The first family weekend getaway spot that you are going to want to visit is, of course, Disney World in Orlando, FL. This is one of the best and biggest Disney theme parks in the world. This is not to be confused with the smaller park in California, which is called Disney Land. This theme park has everything that you and your family could possibly want to do. They offer a number of great areas to go to. There is the Animal Kingdom, Fantasy Kingdom, MGM Studios, Epcot, and that is just to name a few. Of course, no matter what park you choose to go to inside Disney World, you can bet that you are going to have the time of your life. Now you can choose to stay inside the theme park at one of their many hotels, but it is cheaper to get a hotel just outside the theme park and drive there.

If you can not afford to go to Disney World, do not worry. A lot of people can not. However, that is why they choose to go to this next place we are going to talk about. The next place on our family weekend getaway is Cedar Point in Ohio. Now, Ohio is not the first place you would think about taking a family getaway. However, Cedar Point is home to some of the biggest roller coasters in the world. Not only that, they have tons of stuff for younger kids to do there as well. Cedar Point itself is a lot of fun, but because it is not a “theme park”, since it does not have a real theme to it, the cost for the tickets are really cheap! Not only that, but because they do not have any hotels inside the actual park, you should have no problems finding a hotel that is nearby that has a good price.

Last on our family weekend getaway list is a little bit more relaxing. This next place will take you to the Great Lakes of Michigan. Here you can spend some time with your family taking in the great outdoors. Not only that, but there are so many Great Lakes to choose from, you should not have any problems finding one that is not crowed. The only problem with this family weekend getaway is that this one only really works when it is summer time. During the winter, the Great Lakes get way too cold to go visit, and a lot of times they have lake effect snow.
